Township Attorney Gets State Appointment

Governor seats Brian Nelson on the state Economic Development Authority

Attorney Brian M. Nelson has been appointed to the NJ Economic Development Authority by Gov. Chris Christie.

Nelson is the managing partner of Nelson Supko & Hanlon LLC and also serves as the Tinton Falls borough attorney and special counsel to Monmouth County.

In addition to practicing law, in 2009, Nelson served as a member of Gov. Chris Christie's Transition Team for the Office of the Governor. In 2008, he served as New Jersey counsel to former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney's presidential campaign.

In 2005, Nelson served as deputy campaign manager to Doug Forrester's primary election campaign for governor. In 2004, he served as executive director of the New Jersey Republican State Committee.

According to its Web site, the authority meets monthly in Trenton and acts as a "catalyst for creating jobs and promoting economic growth in the State."
