Monday, Oct. 1

County Parks Costume Exchange at Thomas Park

Drop off your gently used childrens', adults' and pets' costumes during the day between Oct. 1 and 5, and the morning of Oct. 6. You will receive a token for each one. With that token you can return on the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 7 to get "new-to-you" costumes.

Middletown Township Council Workshop Meeting

The Middletown Township Committee usually holds its workshop meetings on the first Monday of each month at 8 p.m. The event is held in the conference room at town hall. Meetings are open to the public. Call 732-615-2015 for details, or go to the Middletown Township website and click on the event calendar listing for agenda and meeting documents.

Tuesday, Oct. 2

Dress for Mess: Pumpkin Surprise

Roll up your sleeves & have fun at "Dress for Mess." Parents can relax and enjoy joining their child in exploring a different "messy material" (such as paint or play dough) while knowing that the library staff will handle planning, set up, and clean up. Each class will include a literacy component. Ages 4-5 with an adult. Pre-register at mtpl.org or by calling the Children's Services Department at 732-671-3700 x340.

Dining to Donate

We Care Adult Care will be participating in Dining to Donate in Applebee's of Middletown. Just present one of our flyers when you dine in or carry out on Oct. 2 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and 10% of your bill will be donated to our team for the Walk to End Alzheimers for the Alzhiemer's Association.

Healthy Nutrition for Breast Cancer Prevention

Explore the best foods to include in your life to aid with Breast Cancer prevention through a fun, informative talk and cooking demonstration. The event begins at 7 p.m..

Wednesday, Oct. 3

Read to a Dog at Middletown Township Public Library

The Middletown Township Public Library is encouraging independent readers in kindergarten through 5th grade to participate in "Read to a Dog." "Read To A Dog" is a great way to improve the literacy skills of children. It encourages children to read by providing a non-judgmental listener in our furry friends. Children will read to a dog for ten minutes. Registration is required, and the event is only for independent readers in K through 5th grade. Middletown Township Planning Board Meeting

The Middletown Planning Board usually meets in the main meeting room of Town Hall, 1 Kings Highway, starting at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.

Community Affairs Council

The Community Affairs Council is an advisory body. Its purpose is to advise, suggest, counsel, research, investigate and recommend to the Township Committee general programs, activities, methods and techniques for the general civic, cultural, and community betterment of Middletown Township. Meetings are held at 7:30 pm on the first Wednesday of each month at Town Hall Conference Room, 1 Kings Highway. Call 732-615-2014 for more information.

Neighbors-helping-Neighbors is for anyone in career transition, unemployed, underemployed, and recent college graduates in the fields of business, non-profit and education. Clean Ocean Action's Seaside Sunset

Environmentalists, music, food and drink will set the stage for the 14th Annual Seaside Sunset event to benefit for Clean Ocean Action (COA). The event is considered a great opportunity for local businesses to demonstrate their support of a clean and healthy ocean.
