Christie Claims Victory in All Middletown Voting Districts

Democratic challenger Barbara Buono wins none of township's 46 districts

Barbara Buono failed to defeat Gov. Chris Christie in any of Middletown’s voting districts Tuesday night, Monmouth County election results show.

Christie, a Republican, defeated his Democratic challenger by healthy margins in all 46 of Middletown’s voting districts and absentee ballot tallies, according to the county.

In total, Christie earned 74 percent of the vote in Middletown, compared to Buono’s 24 percent. In total, 15,092 Middletown residents voted for the incumbent, compared to 4,820 for Buono, according to the county.

Christie’s margin of victory in Middletown is wider than that statewide, where the governor won 60.5 percent of the vote, the Huffington Post reported.
