Every year, the United States of America observes Veterans Day in November to pay tribute to those who have served and sacrificed for this country in the name of honor. To show gratitude in small measure, The Red Oak Diner & Lounge will host "A Salute To Patriotism" Auto Show & Car Cruise, an appropriately-titled event on Saturday, November 9 from 12-4 p.m. The rain date is Sunday, November 10 from 12-4 p.m. The Red Oak Diner is located at 2973 Highway 35 North, Hazlet, N.J. 07730. All classes of vehicles including classic, antique, collector, custom, import, hot rod, muscle, trucks, and especially military vehicles, are encouraged to attend. Registration is $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the show. Prizes will be awarded in all classes. All registration fees will be donated to the national non-profit organization HOMES for our TROOPS (HFOT), which builds housing for veterans wounded in combat at no charge to the veteran. Many people are familiar with the HFOT handicapped-accessible home built for Sargeant Michael Minard in Union Beach, N.J.
The public is invited to attend, and access is FREE to view the cars and to enjoy the live music provided by DJ Terrence of 3 in 1 Entertainment. Hamburgers, hot dogs and sausage will be available for purchase as well as beverages at the barbecue being held on the back lawn of the restaurant.
