Atlantic Highlands Arts Council’s Living Room Concert – An Evening of Holiday Jazz in a Restored Victorian Home

Saturday,
December 14 at 7:30pm, celebrate the holidays with a very special concert
presented by the Atlantic Highlands Arts Council.  The Sergio DuBois Trio offers
an evening of favorite jazz and holiday compositions. Guests will enjoy fine
music, sparkling holiday refreshments, and conversation in an elegant Victorian
home in Atlantic Highlands. 



Keyboard artist and composer Sergio
DuBois is a passionate multi-instrumentalist with a natural gift for musical
creation and improvisation, having developed a love for jazz while studying
Mathematics at the University of Chicago.  He later studied jazz at the University of
Miami and then became a student of jazz legend Joanne Brackeen.  He has performed at many Arts Council events
over the years.

Sergio will be playing with bassist
Gary Mazzaroppi, a graduate of the Berklee School, who toured with the Lionel
Hampton Big Band for five years.  Mazzaroppi has accompanied many of the
greatest names in jazz, from Charlie Byrd and Herb Ellis to Marian McPartland,
Buddy Rich and Clark Terry.

Brazil-born drummer Maurício de
Souza is an accomplished musician, band leader, and composer. DeSouza has
performed and recorded with many outstanding jazz artists, and his two groups,
Bossa Brasil (Brazilian jazz) and Maurício de Souza Group (straight-ahead jazz),
perform exciting, sophisticated, and lyrical jazz and Brazilian jazz
compositions.



 



The Atlantic Highlands Arts Council’s
Living Room Concert series brings some of the best metropolitan area musicians
to small audiences in the intimacy of private living rooms in Atlantic
Highlands.  Each concert also offers the opportunity to meet and talk to
the musicians and other audience members over refreshments.



 



Tickets for the Jazz Holiday Concert
are only $20, and are available online at aharts.org, or at the Painted Frame, 78 First Ave. in Atlantic
Highlands.
