The Middletown Township Public Library is encouraging independent readers in kindergarten through 5th grade to participate in "Read to a Dog."

"Read To A Dog" is a great way to improve the literacy skills of children. It encourages children to read by providing a non-judgmental listener in our furry friends.

Children will read to a certified thereapy dog for ten minutes.

Registration is required, and the event is only for independent readers in K through 5th grade.

Click on the calendar at the library's website www.mtpl.org to register, or call 732-671-3700 extension 340.
