New Speaker Added: Jody Calendar has over 30 years of journalism experience and has been the Managing Editor of the Record of Hackensack, the Deputy Executive Editor of the Asbury Park Press, and a member of the Board of the Associated Press Managing Editors. Ms.Calendar will discuss the crucial role the media plays in promoting transparency and holding government accountable.  Jody Calendar is the President of Calendar Communications, LLC and is a trustee of the Brookdale Foundation. 

Paula Franzese is one of the country's leading experts in government ethics and a esteemed Seton Hall Law Professor.  She has  spearheaded ethics reform initiatives on behalf of three governors, serving as Special Ethics Counsel to Governor Richard Codey, Chair of the State Ethics Commission, Vice-Chair of the Election Law Enforcement Commission and as ethics advisor to state and local governments across the country.


Attorney Walter Luers, President of the New Jersey Foundation for Open Government (NJFOG) is an authority on New Jersey's Open Public Meetings Act and Open Public Records Act. Luers speaks to community groups around the state about OPMA and OPRA and was recognized as one of the ten "Lawyers of the Year" by the New Jersey Law Journal for his work on OPRA.  (www.NJFOG.org)



Youth Organizing Committee Meeting 


During lunch, we are offering an informational meeting for young people interested in learning more about the Youth Organizing Committee. This committee is an opportunity for young people to get involved in changing

the conversation surrounding youth in politics.
