Koch-the Movie

Congregation B’nai Israel (CBI) in Rumson
will host a screening of the film, Koch, a documentary about former Mayor
Ed Koch. The film, by Wall Street Journal reporter Neil Barsky, provides a
contemporary history of the world’s greatest city and an intimate portrait of
the former mayor as he confronts his own

mortality and legacy. The film contains candid and colorful interviews,
rare archival footage and photographs and is described by the Wall

Street Journal as “highly entertaining, and at times quite moving."
At 1 hour 35 minutes, the film is in high definition color. An
official selection at many film festivals around the country, the film won the
2013 Audience Award for best documentary at the Hartford Jewish Film Festival
and played for seven weeks at the Angelika Film Center in New York. This is the
first time the film is being screened in Monmouth County.  Don’t miss it! The
cost is $10 for CBI members and $15 for non-members and includes a NY style hot
dog and “fixins.” Seating is limited so reservations are requested by August 10.
