Pink Day Picture 2013!

On Friday, October 25th Harmony School celebrated their third annual Pink Day to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The first known use of a pink ribbon in connection with breast cancer awareness was in the fall of 1991, when the Susan G. Komen Foundation handed out pink ribbons to participants in its New York City race for breast cancer survivors. The pink ribbon was adopted as the official symbol of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month the next year, in 1992.

At Harmony, we support many different causes too. Last year we supported Sandy Relief, Ty Louis Campbell Foundation, and Alex’s Lemonade Stand. We have also helped with UNICEF, Holiday Express, and even students in need of support during a rough time.

The event on October 25th marked another cause where the Harmony community stood united in the campaign to raise awareness. Breast cancer is an illness that can and may impact any one of us…whether it is directly or indirectly.
