House Hunt Meets the Summer’s End

Last official summer weekend filled with a wave of open houses in Middletown

It’s the last weekend of summer, and open houses are heating up again just as the weather is starting to cool down.

Hurricane Irene ruined events on the last weekend of August, then open houses took a holiday for Labor Day. Last weekend was a solemn anniversary, so this weekend’s series of open houses are probably the first time in a month that hunters have had a chance to peek behind the front doors of new listings.

And that’s what House Hunt features this week: mostly new listings that are all open for viewing this Sunday, Sept. 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. In our gallery of photos above, check the captions for everything you need to know about the residence itself. All the "deets" came from Realtor.com.

Patch real estate blogger  says that home sales rose in August, and prices actually strengthened in Middletown. That’s good news for sellers, and makes the atmosphere a lot more attractive for them to jump in. Which leads to more supply, which is great for buyers.

The calendar may say summer’s nearly over, but the market continues to simmer. And since autumn begins next weekend, enjoy your last hunt of the summer season.
