The Middletown Arts Center’s Free Family Arts Festival

The Middletown Arts Center (MAC) invites families to explore the arts during its All Aboard the Arts! Family Arts Festival and Open House on Sunday, March 3rd, 2013 from 1:00-4:00 p.m

The Middletown Arts Center (MAC) invites families to explore the arts during its All Aboard the Arts Free Family Arts Festival and Open House on Sunday, March 3rd from 1:00-4:00 p.m. The MAC is located at 36 Church Street next to the Middleton Train Station and offers classes, events and community programming for all ages and abilities. Free parking is available onsite.

Hundreds of families are anticipated to join the MAC for its sixth annual open house. Attendees will enjoy a day filled with free non-stop arts action that includes sampling the MAC’s professional classes for adults and children, preregistration for Spring Classes and its popular Summer Arts Camp, live music and performances, and tours of the 23,000 square-foot facility that includes a theater, gallery, classrooms, artist and dance studio, and computer room.

Highlights from the kids activities include a Rockin’ Choo Choo Kids Concert with Miss Sherri, hip hop, KidzArt drawing, cartooning and clay creations with the DoOdle Dude, fashion design, sewing, animal themed arts and crafts, spin art, and LEGO® building with Brick 4 Kids. Adults can also sample classes in water coloring, stained glass window making, jewelry making, gentle yoga, ballroom couple and country line dancing, and tai-chi.

Guests will be entered in free drawings for gift cards good for MAC events and classes throughout 2013. The event is free and preregistration is not required. Call the Middletown Arts Center at 732-706-4100 with any questions.

The Middletown Township Cultural & Arts Council welcomes all varieties of acts (vocal, musical, theatrical, dance, magic, etc.) to participate in a formal audition to be held at the MAC March 15 and 16.  Selected acts will participate in the talent show performances on May 4 & 5. Stop by the table to register at the Open House.

Oh, I am so glad to see that you are preserving history. My husband & I visited your town aRead More couple of weeks ago. My 9th Great Grandfather Thomas Whitlock is buried in the Old First Baptist Church yard. I was honored to stand on the porch of the home he helped build and lived in at Shoal Harbor. The name has changed to the Wilson-Seabrook House and now the Bayshore Activities Center. Wow! Too bad all the museum pieces were removed. I would love to have seen them.
