Register For Summer Arts Camps at Middletown Arts Center

The Middletown Arts Center invites toddlers to teens from across Middletown and surrounding communities to explore the arts at its popular Summer Arts Camps at 36 Church Street.

The Middletown Arts Center (MAC) invites toddlers to teens to explore the arts at its popular Summer Arts Camps at 36 Church Street in Middletown, NJ. Camps are held in the MAC’s air-conditioned 23,000 square-foot facility that includes a theater, gallery, classrooms, dance studio and computer room. Children explore the arts in affordable morning and afternoon sessions that can be joined together to create a full day experience.

Campers who enroll in a morning and afternoon camp are requested to bring snack and lunch. Before and after-care is available from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. for $7 per hour. The MAC's weekly camp themes start mid June and run through the end of August. Weekly camp fees range from $80 - $170. MAC members receive discounts. Students can enroll anytime. The wide variety of camps available at the Middletown Arts Center include video game production, film making, sewing, animation, improvisation, dance, theatre, robotics, music, art, legos, drawing with Doodle Dude and so much more. Parents will easily be able to find a program that matches their child's interests. Below are just a few examples of the programs available. Camp highlights include:

Hip Hop Dance Camp, Ages 4 and Up: Call for start date. Mondays 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. and Wednesdays 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Members  $80, Non-members $88 This new energetic class includes warm-up and basic age-appropriate hip hop choreography. Campers will have fun while learning this popular dance style. Camp ends with a performance held in the Middletown Arts Center theater for family and friends.

Droids and Bots Camp with Black Rocket Productions, Ages 8-12: July 1–3rd, 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. (3-day camp) Members $160, Non-Members $170. In this cutting edge class, children will learn the basics of task robotics including the assembly process, principles of gears, mechanics, sensors and sound activation. Each day will bring a different concept and a new challenge as campers build a variety of different task oriented robots with a partner.

Make a Doll Camp, Ages 7-12: Mondays, 12:30 -3:30 p.m. July 8, 15, 22, 29 and August 5, 12, 19, 26. Members $85, Non-members $100. Children explore the joys of sewing by hand when they create their own individualized cherished doll keepsake. Campers will outfit their creations with a jumper, skirt, fashion accessories and a toy, which they create using a pattern and simple hand sewing techniques. They enhance their creations with a variety of frills and embellishments. All supplies included and all levels welcome.

Super Hero Comic Book Bash with The Doodle Dude, Ages 5 and Up: August 5–9th,
 Monday-Friday, 9:00-11:30 a.m.
 Members $120, Non-Members $132
. Children create their own characters and learn sequential art and dynamic anatomy in any style from “Captain Underpants” to Superman. This camp is full of comic book tricks and tips where the campers make their own comic books and action figures. Camp ends with a dress-up party.
