Pass the Tradition to your kids... Summer Camp for Irish Music and Dance

Growing up in Monmouth County there were a lot of choices for summer camps from boy scout camp, soccer camp, baseball camp, football camp and more. There was not a camp to my knowledge that focused on culture especially not one based on my own ancestral culture. One where I might learn about history of Brian Boru fighting the vikings or get to learn the basics of the Irish fiddle, a camp where I could learn the language my Great Grandparents spoke or even learn Irish dance in the time honored tradition.

Claddagh Na Gael (Irish Shore www.irishshore.org) is hosting an Irish Summer Day Camp in the Middletown area for children to better get to know the true Irish culture not the watered down Irish culture we tend to see on St Patrick's Day. We are offering children a chance to get to know the deep roots of Irish culture through music instruction on fiddle/violin and tin whistle. In addition there will be instruction on Irish Dance and Irish language lessons.

This is a fantastic opportunity for children to expand their curriculum and learning in a fantastically fun way.

Irish Summer Camp will take place on two separate weeks and be half days. The first week starts July 28th and runs the weekday thru and August 4th and runs the week thru.

Claddagh Na Gael is a non profit Irish organization based in Monmouth County promoting the Irish cultural arts and connections.
