Bravo To the Monmouth County Park Volunteers From Middletown
More than three dozen individuals gave generously of their time to improve the county parks.
On Sunday, March 3, the Monmouth County Park System honored dedicated individuals during its Annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony at Hominy Hill Golf Course, Colts Neck.
Throughout the year, volunteers can be found acting as historic site interpreters, serving as trip leaders, and assisting in offices. They also help remove invasive plant species, lead recreation programs, and monitor endangered bird species.
Volunteers are integral to the success of the Park System’s therapeutic riding lessons and special events such as Earth Day, Thompson Park Day and Creatures of the Night. The Park System’s Trails Team, a group of volunteers dedicated to building and maintaining over 129 miles of trails, travels throughout the county to assist staff.
