Middletown Student Recognized by Monmouth County Freeholders

Three students from the Monmouth County Vocational School were awarded $500 scholarships Thursday.

A Middletown student was presented with a scholarship from the New Jersey Association of Counties Foundation at the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders meeting Thursday.

Anthony DeCristofano of Middletown was awarded a $500 scholarship sponsored by PSEG. DeCristofano graduated from Monmouth County Vocational School Marine Academy of Science and Technology in June. He will attend Rutgers University this fall and plans to major in biology and environmental engineering.

“We are proud to have three NJAC scholarship recipients this year,” said Freeholder Gary J. Rich, Sr., who also serves as a County NJAC representative. “We have some of the brightest students in the state here in Monmouth County and it is great to see them stay in New Jersey for college.”

Lacey Magee of Millstone was presented with a $500 scholarship sponsored by Investor’s Bank. She graduated from MCVS Academy of Allied Health and Science. She will also attend Rutgers and plans to major in cell biology and neuroscience.

Juhi Deolankar of Morganville also received a scholarship sponsored by Investor’s Bank. Deolankar graduated from MCVS Allied Health and Science and will attend the New Jersey Institute of Technology this fall. Deolankar plans to enroll in the seven-year BS/MD program, majoring in biology.
