Open Gym, Art, and Storytime at Parks' New Facility in Tinton Falls

The Monmouth County Parks System welcomes the public to its new indoor recreation center.

The newest addition to the Monmouth County Parks System is also its first indoor facility. It was acquired from the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) and officially opened in August.

Here is a list of "drop-in" programs available at the Fort Monmouth Recreation Center, located at 2566 Guam Lane in Tinton Falls. See photos of the center and a video on the Park's site.

Drop-In Wednesdays at the Rec Center   
Wednesdays through Dec. 18, from 3:30-5:00 pm   
(ages 6-10) 
Join our staff for games and activities. Gym games,  foosball, air hockey, ping pong and bumper pool tables. Also; arts & crafts, science experiments, board games and more.

Monday Night Open Teen Basketball   
Mondays through Nov. 25 from 7-8:30 pm    
(ages 13-18)
Drop-in for all levels.  $5 per person, per night, payable at the door.  No class 11/11.

Baby Story Time
10:45 - 11:30 am on Tuesday, Oct. 29
(ages 11 months-18 months, with adult)
Nursery rhymes, songs and short stories with baby. Pre-registration not required. $15 per parent/child pair; cash or check only on-site. Meets in Program Room B.

Focus on Fitness & Fun
3:30-5:30 pm on the following Tuesdays: 
Oct. 29, Nov. 5; Nov. 12, 19 & 26 
(ages 6-10)
Begins with exercise and fitness activities to help children focus and retain information in the gym. Then homework and art activities. Pre-registration not required. Cost is $25 per child; cash or check only on-site. Meets in Program Room D.

Punch Out Collages
3:30-5 pm on the following Wednesdays:
Oct. 30 & Nov. 27
(all ages, under 18 with adult)
Play with Cricut or Sizzix paper cutters to create a unique collage. Pre-registration not required. $5 per person; cash or check only on-site. Meets in Program Room A.

Trash to Treasure
1:30-3pm on the following Thursdays:
Nov. 14
(all ages, under 18 with adult)
Art projects using recycled materials and craft supplies. Pre-registration not required. $5 per person; cash or check only on-site.

Splatter
Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 10 - 11 am
(ages 2-5, with adult)
Our brushes will never touch the paper! Enjoy some messy art fun as we flick, fling and drip paint to create our masterpieces. Dress in play clothes or bring a smock. Cost is $15 per parent/child pair; cash or check only.

Share the fun of nursery rhymes, songs and short stories with your little one. Create a joyful experience as your child explores the sounds and patterns of language. The cost is $5 per person.

Family Game Night  
From 6-8:30pm on Fridays, January 31 & February 28   
(all ages, under 18 with adult)
Board games, table games, and gym games. Cost is $15 per Family (2-4 people), $5 additional person.
