Things to do at Monmouth County Parks, from the Parks System

It’s never been easier to fill those long, lazy days of June thanks to the Monmouth County Park System. From Discover Disc Golf to Seining in the Bay, the Park System has filled the month with exciting and family-friendly activities. The schedule is follows:

Discover Disc Golf

Thompson Park, Lincroft
Enjoy our mini disc golf course! Ages 7 and up (under 18 with adult) will enjoy seeing how many throws it takes to hear the "cling" of the goal. Course map and list can be picked up at sign in at the Thompson Park Visitor Center. FREE!

Men’s Open Gym Basketball

Sundays, June 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 from  9-11am

Fort Monmouth Recreation Center, Tinton Falls

Open Ceramics

Thompson Park Creative Arts Center, Lincroft
Choose from a large selection of bisque fired pottery pieces to glaze and make your own. The cost is $6 per hour plus price of bisque ware; cash or check only. Pieces will be fired in about a week.

 

Historic Seabrook-Wilson House Open for Tours

Sundays, June 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 from 1-4pm

Bayshore Waterfront Park, Port Monmouth

Visit this house, which dates back to the early 1700s, and see displays on the ecology of the bay and local history. FREE!

 

Boat Tours of the Manasquan Reservoir

Join a Park System Naturalist for a paddle on the beautiful Navesink River. Meet at the Claypit Creek section of the park. Novice paddlers welcome. All equipment is provided - single and tandem kayaks are available. Wear appropriate clothing that can get wet. Open to ages 12 and up, under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is $20 per person. Cash or check only please.  First come, first served. Will be cancelled in event of inclement weather.

 

Thompson Park Canoe Rentals

Canoes will be available for rent on Marlu Lake. All equipment provided; limited number of canoes available. Fee is $15 per boat for 1-3 people for 2 hours; cash or check only. For evening rentals, canoes must be returned to shore no later than 9pm.

You Can Sail
