Charleston Springs Celebrates 15 Years with Open House

Nationally renowned golf trick shot performer Dennis Walters will be on hand Monday, August 19 at Charleston Springs Golf Course to celebrate the site’s 15 year anniversary. Walters’ performance begins at 6:30 pm.

In 1974, Dennis Walters suffered an accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. This easily could have crushed his love of golf, but Dennis refused to allow himself to be defeated. After much dedication, he now plays golf by using a swivel seat mounted to a golf cart. With his dog Bucky by his side, he’s taken his love of golf to inspire others and has made over 3,000 appearances, performing across the country and in other countries around the world.

Dennis' theory is that if you have a good swing you can hit good shots with almost anything and he proves this by hitting precise shots with clubs made from a fishing rod, a crutch, a radiator hose and a cell phone. He also has a club with 3 universal joints on the shaft and a club with 3 heads (his 3 iron). Dennis hits shots blindfolded, through fire and let's not forget the 200 yard putt. Other highlights you will see in the show are shots hit off 3 foot high tees, off a watch and with an egg balanced on the ball.
