Nephews Skateshop + Gallery Art Benefit, August 10, 2013

Port Monmouth, NJ – August 06, 2013 Nephews Skate Shop + Gallery will be hosting hosting the first solo artist exhibit on Saturday, August 10, 2013 from 6pm to 10pm. The exhibit will feature the works of French graffiti artist, Seb Gorey. Nephews is excited to open up their doors to the public and host an evening of inspiration, conversation and enjoyment.

SEB GOREY was born in 1976 in Paris, France. Today, he is based in New York City working as an artist and designer focusing on overcoming the decay of our civilization. His work portrays the ingeniosity and versatility of human made recycling, englobing the end of industrial production and the revenge of nature. The main aspect of his production is the idea of stacking and coliding disparate elements to form unity. The traditional stylistic, rather figurative, approach depicts a post apocalyptic environment influenced by street culture in which the humans have survived.

In addition to his fine art production, Seb Gorey is the menswear fashion designer of the Woolf NYC and also works as an illustrator and graphic designer for the brand.

For the show at Nephews, the artist wanted to reach the core skateboarding community by keeping his proposition straight to the point and affordable. The majority of drawings to be shown are smaller, black and white pieces...not typical to what Seb has shown in past exhibits.

All proceeds from art sales will go towards Chris "Puddin" Aylward's medical bills. Puddin is the owner of Woodshop Skateboard's in Asbury Park, NJ.
