Belford Resident Edward Rinkowski Dies at 72

Rinkowski worked for New York Shipping for 42 years.

Edward Rinkowski – 72 of Belford, New Jersey passed away on March 14, 2014 with his family by his side at The Hackensack Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.  Edward was born October 29, 1941 in Elizabeth and grew up in Keansburg New Jersey.  Edward worked for New York Shipping for 42 years as a Marine Carpenter and was a member of the International Long Shoreman’s Association Local 901-1 and bricklayers union Local 5.  He was predeceased by his mother Claire, his in laws Margaret and Tony Merisola, and sister in law Loretta Emerson.  Edward was the beloved husband of Margaret for 49 wonderful years.  He was also the devoted father of Margaret Demieri,  Dineen and Charlie Nagy,  Lisa and Michael Keelen,  and his son Edward Rinkowski.  Edward was also the loving brother of JoAnn,  Robert,  Paul,  Phyllis,  Phillip, and Claire.  He was also survived by his grandchildren Lelise,  Vaughn,  Nicholas,  Avita Marie,  Keith,  Jay,  Michael,  Shealyn, and Matthew as well as many as nieces and nephews.  Edward loved the beach and always enjoyed vacationing in Florida and loved playing golf and tennis.  Most of all he loved spending precious time with all of his grandchildren. 

Edward will be reposing at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home 1735 Route 35 Middletown, New Jersey 07748 on Wednesday March 19th, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday morning March 20, 2014 at St. Mary’s Chapel in Middletown at 10:30 a.m.  Private cremation to follow.
