Former Middletown School Board Employee Joanne R. Beagen Dies at 83

Joanne R. Beagen, 83, of Hazlet died on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013 at Bayshore Healthcare Center in Holmdel. 

She was born in Elizabeth and lived in Middletown for more than 30 years before moving to Hazlet a few years ago. 

Joanne worked for 10 years for the Middletown Township Board of Education until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time at her pool club and especially loved the beach with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her two daughters, Linda Crimaldi of Wall and Colleen Carlo and her husband Michael of Lincroft; son, Thomas Beagen and his wife Karen of Middletown; eight grandchildren, Anthony and Michael Crimaldi; Michael, Christopher, Matthew and Joseph Carlo, and Jane and Emily Beagen; also surviving are six great-grandchildren, Tristan, Anthony, Brandon, Tyler, Gabriel, and Grace Crimaldi.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Eugene in 2002.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 3 from 3 to 7 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A funeral ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. during the visitation. Cremation will be private.
