Former Parks Supervisor, Navy Vet Ralph W. Barth Dies at 72

Services are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday

The following was submitted by the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home:

Ralph W. Barth, 72, of Belford, was called to be with the Lord on Dec. 8, 2013 surrounded by his family at his home. 

He was born on Feb. 7, 1941 and lovingly adopted, at age 5 by Otto and Amelia (nee Miller) Barth. Ralph retired as a Supervisor for Middletown Township Parks and Recreation after 27 years.

Ralph proudly served in the United States Navy before his Medical Discharge during the Vietnam War.  

He coached and refereed for BYAA for many years.  He was passionate about golf, poker, and pool. He was an extreme Yankees, Giants, and Devils fan.  Ralph's family was extremely special to him and he loved to spend time with each of them, they are his pride and joy.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Linda Barth; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Shannon Barth, Jr., and Brian and Melissa Barth; and his four grandchildren, Darby, Morgan, Nicklaus, and Avery.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Amelia Barth.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Rd., Middletown. 

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 12 at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
