Middletown Elks Member Raymond A. Yeager Dies at 67

Visitation scheduled for Thursday; funeral services for Friday

Raymond A. Yeager, 67, of Belford passed away on Jan. 4, 2014 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. 

He was born in Carbondale, PA, to Raymond and Grace Yeager and lived in the Middletown area since 1975. 

Raymond last worked as a carpenter for Middlebrook at Monmouth. He also worked at a brokerage house on Wall St., he was a manufacturers representative for his father's business, and he even owned and operated his own wholesale hardware business.

Ray enjoyed collecting firearms, going to the shooting range, fishing and building things. His first love was carpentry. Raymond honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Raymond was a member of the Middletown Elks Lodge No. 2179.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Doris Yeager; his two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Lysa Yeager, and Daniel and Amanda Yeager; and his six grandchildren, Nicholas, Emily, Matthew, Justin, Leanna, and Nathaniel.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond (1996) and Grace (nee Taylor, 2009) Yeager and his brother, Roger Yeager (1993).

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. 

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.
