Middletown Resident Raffaele Chieffo, Born in Italy, Dies at 66

Chieffo was a communicant of St. Mary's.

Raffaele "Ralph" Chieffo, 66, of Middletown, NJ, died on February 6, 2014 at his home. He was born in Bagnoli Irpino, Italy, came to the USA at age 24, settled in Jersey City, and lived in Middletown for 36 years. Ralph worked as an assembler for General Motors in Linden for 35 years before retiring in 2010. He was a communicant of St Mary's RC Church in Middletown. He was a veteran of the Italian Military having served prior to coming to the USA.

Surviving are his: 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Alfonso and Kathleen Chieffo of Middletown, Peter and Janet Chieffo of Denville, and Ralph and Lauran of Monroe; daughter, Gina Chieffo-Mazzerelli of Howard Beach; 2 brothers, Gino Chieffo and Miguel Chieffo; sister, Tina Chieffo; and 4 grandchildren, Nicole, Gracie, Ava, and Matthew.

Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Grace in 2002 and his son-in-law, James Mazzerelli in 2012.
