Obituary: Alfred J. Spitzer, 70

Services for the Belford resident and American Legion member will be held at St. Mary's Chapel in Middletown on Aug. 9.

Alfred J. Spitzer, 70, died Sunday, August 5 at home. He was born in Northampton, PA and lived in Belford for 32 years.

He was a bank vice president for Citigroup, New York City, where he worked for 32 years. Al graduated from Farleigh Dickinson University. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 338, Leonardo. Al had a living donor kidney transplant 8 years ago.

Surviving are his loving wife, Brigid; 2 daughters, Stacey and her husband Rich Osborne, Middletown; Kristin Spitzer and her fiance Jamie Kelly, Oceanport; and 2 grandaughters, Devyn and Morgan Osborne. Also surviving are 4 brothers, a large extended family and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2012, from 4-8 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday at 9:30 am at the funeral home.

A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Friday, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Chapel, 26 Leonardville Rd., Middletown. Burial will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
