Obituary: Alice Martin, 84, Former Middletown Resident

Services will be held on Wednesday and Thursday

The following was submitted by the Clayton Funeral Home: 

Alice Martin, 84, of Tinton Falls passed away at Seabrook Village on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013.  

Mrs. Martin was born in New York City, lived in the Bronx, moved to Middletown in 1970 and became a resident of Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls in 2007.  She was employed in the Human Resources Department of General Motors for 15 years retiring in 1970.  Alice was a graduate of Aquinas High School in the Bronx Class of 1946.

Mrs. Martin was predeceased by her first husband, Norman Allison in 1967 and her second husband, William C. Martin in 2000; her parents, William and Delia McManus; and three brothers, John McManus, William McManus and James McManus.  She is survived by her son, Robert W. Allison, Sr. and daughter-in-law, Joy of Lake Como; her grandson, Robert W. Allison, Jr. and his wife, Katie of Alexandria, VA; her granddaughter, Delia C. Allison of Belmar;  her granddaughter, Grace Solliday of Lake Como; her brother, Robert and Joan McManus of Waterford, MI;  three sisters, Ceil Bocker of Floral Park, NY; Terry and Noah Kline of Freehold Township; and Kathy and Jack Mallon of Canton, MI; and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home at 9 a.m. on Nov. 14 for the procession to her 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Rd., Freehold Township. Interment to follow at Holmdel Cemetery.
