Obituary: James Richard Kennelty, 19, of Port Monmouth

A moment of silence was observed at the Monday Middletown Board of Education meeting for the Class of 2013 graduate. James Kennelty died of medical complications.

James Richard Kennelty, 19, of Port Monmouth, NJ, died on May 7, 2014 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. He was born in Red Bank and lived all of his life in Port Monmouth. James was a student currently enrolled at Brookdale Community College and a graduate from Middletown HS North, Class of 2013. He was a communicant of St Mary's Parish in New Monmouth.

Surviving are his parents, Michael and Lucia Kennelty of Port Monmouth; paternal grandmother, Lucy Kennelty of Lakewood; loving cousins: Dan, Tia, Greg, Nicole, Justin and Gabrielle; and several devoted aunts and uncles.

Funeral services were held Monday at the John P. Pfleger funeral home, with a funeral liturgy at St. Mary's Chapel.
