Obituary: Raymond Quinn, 88, Served in WWII

Quinn, a witness to history, later became its scholar.

Raymond  Quinn, 88, of Cedar Run, died on February 24, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bronx, NY and lived in Jersey City most of his life before moving to Florida and then Cedar Run. He worked for the Teamsters Union before his retirement.  Raymond proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. He was an avid reader and had a passion for history.  He also loved his bird, Pretty Boy.

Surviving are his loving spouse Madeline; his daughter, Florence and his devoted son-in-law Julio Santiago; daughter- in- law, Mary Beth Quinn; 2 grandchildren, Kerry and Casey Quinn and a great-granddaughter, Sierra Quinn. Also surviving, are his two sisters, Ethel Oras and Lillian Christ

Raymond was preceded in death by his daughter, Alice Quinn; son, Thomas Quinn and sister, Rose Dykes.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm & 7 to 9 pm at the John F.Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A service will be held during the evening visitation hours. Cremation will be private.
