Obituary: Sheila Nisbet Quist, Teacher of Special Needs Students in Middletown

Quist had retired from the school district and recently celebrated a 50th golden anniversary.

Sheila Nisbet Quist, of Neptune, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at home in her sleep. Sheila was a longtime resident of the Jersey Shore and retired from Middletown, NJ School district where she worked for many years as a compassionate educator, teaching many children of special needs to read. After raising two sons, Sheila returned to school where she earned a Masters degree. Children and dogs were her love. Sheila was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Patricia and Bert Nisbet. She loved and enjoyed her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Barr; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bert and Dawn Quist of Atlanta, Georgia and Kevin and Hillary Quist of Hoboken; her grandsons, Cole and Dax were the loves of her life. Sheila will be greatly missed and forever loved by all who had the opportunity to know her well.

The visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Ely Funeral Home, Neptune. The interment will be private. Condolences may also be made online atwww.elyfuneralhome.com.
