Obituary: Thomas F. Minor, 94, Longtime Crossing Guard, Port Monmouth First-Aider

For 20 years, a familiar face at the busy Tindall and Leonardville Rd. intersection.

Thomas F. Minor, Sr., 94, of Port Monmouth, NJ, died on February 22, 2013 at his home. He was born in Jersey City, NJ. Thomas worked for General Motors and was a member of the U.A.W. for 25 years.  He was also a member Port Monmouth First Aid Squad for many years and was a crossing guard at the corner of Tindall Rd. and Leonardville Rd. for 20 years.

Surviving are his spouse, Anstasia (Tess) Minor; his daughter and son-in-law, Maryann and Ken of Murrysville, PA; his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Gina of Cranford, NJ; his son, Edward of Red Bank, NJ; his four grandsons, Jason and his wife Arlene of New Orleans, LA, Mark and his wife Gretchen of Irwin, PA, Thomas and his wife Samlee of Eatontown, NJ, and Patrick of Belford, NJ; his two granddaughters, Katherine and Elizabeth of Cranford, NJ; his great-grandchildren, Anna & Sophia;  and his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Aileen Minor of MD.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas F. and Mary Minor, his sister, Mulva, his sister, Viola, his brother, Edward, and his sister, Rosemary

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 25 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, February 26, beginning with a short visitation at 10 am at Kimisis Tis Theotoku. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11 am at Kimisis Tis Theotokou, 20 Hillcrest Rd, Holmdel. Burial will follow at Bay View Cemetery, Leonardo.
