Obituary: US Navy Veteran Joseph T. Queenan, 84, of Middletown

Queenan was a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of the Jersey Shore and the Knights of Columbus.

Joseph T. Queenan, 84, of  Middletown, NJ, died on June 6, 2014 at Seabrook Village in Neptune, NJ. He was born in Newark, NJ to the late Joseph and Catherine Queenan. Joseph worked as a Department Chief for Western Electric. Joe served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of the Jersey Shore and the Knights of Columbus, Chapter 6552, where he served as Financial Secretary. Joe also loved to travel and see the world. 

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and William Hansen; his son & daughter-in-law, Michael and Siu Queenan; his son, Dennis J. Queenan; his grandchildren, Gregory (and his wife, Jennifer) and Ryan Hansen, and Katherine, Kevin and Joseph Queenan; his great-grandchildren, Madison and Brandon Hansen; his brother, Robert Queenan; and his two sisters, Sheila Magliaro and Maureen Parry.

 Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 30 years, Theresa Queenan, in 1983, and his brother, John Queenan. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled forWednesday, June 11 at 9:30 am at the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy will be offeredWednesday, June 11, 2014 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Chapel, 26 Leonardville Rd., Middletown. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
