Obituary: Walter "Bud" Boyd

Korean War veteran was a self-employed carpenter and builder

Walter "Bud" Boyd, 87, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at CareOne King James, Middletown. He was born and raised in Red Bank on August 27, 1925.  Walter served his country in the Korean War as a member of the Seabees.  In 1950, he settled in Middletown with his wife, Gertrude Supienski.  Mr. Boyd was a self-employed carpenter and builder. To which he worked totally by word of mouth for the better part of 50 years. 

Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude; his parents, Fred and Elizabeth Boyd; his two sisters, Mary Hover and Ruth Normandin; and his brother, William Boyd. 

Bud is survived by his two daughters, Bonnie Boyd McKinney and her husband Gary of Middletown and Suzanne Rotondella and her husband Frank of Middletown; his son, Walter "Buddy" Boyd and his wife Karen of Bayville; his two grandsons, Jason Boyd of Middletown and Kyle Boyd of Bayville; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, December 15 from 7 to 9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for the evening visitation hours at the funeral home. Following the families wishes, Walter will be privately cremated.
