Port Monmouth Resident, Former Paratrooper Dies at 55

Edward J. Daly Jr. was a heavy equipment mechanic for Port Authority Trans Hudson for over 20 years.

Edward J. Daly Jr. 55 of Port Monmouth, New Jersey passed away peacefully on
Wednesday after a long battle with cancer. Edward was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 29, 1958. He moved to Jersey City where he attended St. Michael’s high school.

Edward was a Paratrooper for the US Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Port Authority Trans Hudson for over 20 years. He married his wife Pamela in 1985 and moved to Port Monmouth where they raised their 3 boys.

Edward is predeceased by his parents Edward Sr. and Dorothy (Nee Biagini). He was the beloved husband of Pamela for 29 wonderful years. Edward was the devoted father to Ryan (Lisa), Christian, and Eric. He was the loving brother of Patricia, Barbara, and Coleen. Edward is survived by his grandson Ryan Jr. as well as being the uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Edward loved spending time with his boys hunting, fishing, shooting, and watching football. He took pride in being involved in every aspect of his children’s lives and was always there for them. He will be greatly missed.

Edward will be reposing at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation 
Service 1735 Route 35 Middletown, New Jersey on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday at St. Mary’s Chapel in Middletown at 10:30 am. Private cremation to follow.
