Obituary: Sean Carhart, 19, Graduate of Middletown HS North

He had recently been accepted to the prestigious Stevens Institute of Technology.


Sean Carhart, 19-year-old son of Marita Bucco Carhart and Russell Carhart lost his long battle with a very rare cancer on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013.

Sean was a recent graduate of Middletown High School North and had been accepted into Stevens Institute of Technology.

During his summers, he participated in the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth program and attended Camp Happy Times, a camp for children with cancer.

He was a faithful Altar Server at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Highlands since 2005.

Sean was a history buff with a special interest in the Civil War and an avid Star Wars fan.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Victoria M. Bucco. In addition to his parents, Sean is survived by his brother Christopher, his maternal grandparents Anthony and Carol Bucco of Highlands, his paternal grandparents Lowell Carhart and Angela James and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Family and Friends are invited to call at the John P. Condon Funeral Home 804 Route 36 in Leonardo, NJ on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Highlands.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that a donation be made to the Valerie Fund/Camp Happy Times 2101 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, NJ 07040 in Sean's name.
