Police: Armed Robbery at Route 35 Gas Station Early Thursday

Police are searching for the suspect, who showed a gun and demanded cash.

The Raceway Gas Station on Route 35 and Pine Street, in the Fairview section, was the scene of an armed robbery early this morning, said Middletown Police.

According to Det. Lt. Stephen Dollinger, a man described as a black male, about 6 feet tall with a stocky build and a thin goatee beard, wearing black jeans, a black long sleeve shirt and a yellow baseball hat entered the station around 5:40 a.m.

He flashed a silver-colored revolver handgun and demanded cash from the attendant.

He then fled the station on foot towards the Pine Street jug handle. Police did not release how much money was taken.

An older model, light-colored, two-door, Pontiac Grand Am may have been involved in the incident, police said.
