Arresting Update: Assault, Shoplifting
The following information was obtained directly from Middletown Township Police Department records. It does not indicate convictions.
arrested the following people recently on assault and shoplifting charges:
• James Duffy, 49, of Park Avenue, Atlantic Highlands, was arrested on March 11, by Patrolman Brian McGrogan, and charged with for simple assault.
He was held on $1,000 bail, with a 10 percent option set by Judge Richard Thompson.

• Joseph Alaia, 54, of Sycamore Avenue, Middletown, was arrested on March 11, by Cpl. Daniel Murdoch and charged with simple assault.
He was released on his own recognizance pending a court date.

• Edyta Puchalski, 38, of Forest Avenue, Middletown, was arrested on March 11, by Patrolman Adam Vendetti, and charged with shoplifting from the ShopRite store, Route 35.
She was released pending a court date.
• Linda McGowan, 54, of Leonardville Road, Leonardo, was arrested on March 11, by Patrolman Brian McGrogan, and charged with shoplifting from the Sears store, Route 35.
• Daniel Gilham, 31, from Hudson Avenue, Middletown, was arrested on March 10, by Patrolman Adam Colfer, and charged with simple assault.
He was released after posting $2,500, with a 10 percent option.
She was released pending a court date.
• Ismael Vazquez, 31, of Harmony Road, Middletown, was arrested on March 10, by Patrolman Donald Coates, and charged with simple assault.
He was held on bail.
