Arresting Update: Burglary, Prostitution and More

The following information was obtained directly from Middletown Township Police Department records. It does not indicate convictions.

arrested the following people recently on various charges, including burglary, assault, prostitution, DWI and Megan’s Law violations:

Bruce Ethridge, 41, of Moran Place in Keansburg, was arrested on March 29, by Patrolman Anthony Dellatacoma, and charged with promoting prostitution.

He was released pending a court date.

Abdurrahe Akbar, 52, of South 17th Street, Newark, was arrested on March 29, by Detective Laurence Schachtel, and charged with four counts of burglary, three counts of theft and four counts of criminal mischief.

He was held on $80,000 bail with no 10 percent option, set by Judge Richard Thompson. Patch will have a story on this Monday.

Lea Brantly, 27, of Silverside Avenue, Little Silver, was arrested on March 28, by Patrolman David Crenshaw, and charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, obstructing an Investigation, criminal mischief, driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to breath samples.

She was held on bail.

Nancy Matherly, 56, of Collinson Avenue, Middletown, was arrested on March 26, by Patrolman Nicholas Fenezia, and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Cherry Tree Farm Road.

She was released pending a court date.

Ronald Borello, 49, of Collins Avenue, in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, was arrested on March 30, by Detective Laurence Schachtel, and charged with failing to notify police of change of address as required by Megan’s Law.

He was released pending a court date.

Kevin Kelly, 26, of Third Avenue, Myrtle Beach, SC, was arrested on March 26, by Detective Laurence Schachtel, and charged with failing to notify police as required by Megan’s Law.

He was held on $15,000 bail with no 10 percent option, set by Judge Richard Thompson.

Cherise Schaub, 27, of East End Avenue, Belford, was arrested on March 26, by Cpl. Thomas Meckier, and charged with tampering with a witness and harassment.

She was held on $22,500 bail.

Mary Belunza, 50, of Park Avenue, in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, was arrested on March 26, by Patrolman Anthony Bumbico, and charged with simple assault.

She was released pending a court date.
