This story really saddens me.

Wow these folks never seem learn? Apparently they have some history in such a short time spam. According to this article I came across, Richard got arrested last Sept 2011 for similar drug-related charges. (see 3rd paragraph - http://www.middletownnj.org/press/read/ff364338 ). Then both of them were arrested for more drug-related charges in Feb 2012 (top article - http://www.middletownnj.org/press/read/8aa8d4de ). Poor kids though, I do feel sad for them.

It's a reality...I won't let my child walk, bike, or hang out near the Henry Hudson Trail...It's a haven for drug dealers and addicts....everyone thinks there isn't a HUGE drug problem in our town....you would be amazed...young and old

Lets hope that they are still in jail and that the court never returns the children to these parasites.

There are some homeless people that live on the trail as well.

I lived in Middletown all my life and I am very thankful for that and having to grew up in this great town and having good friends in the New Monmouth area that I grew up in. So glad my dad pick this town to buy his first and only house. Now having a home of my own in this town feel great. Very rarely you ever hear about someone selling drugs and someone got shot or anything esle. I can only hope that the Middletown Twp, polices dept, can put a stop to all this. This is the second time that I heard that someone was selling drugs in the near by area. We don't need this town to turn into Asbury Park. I can remember about 15 years ago or so Red Bank had some problem with drugs but it look like they manage to fix the problem.

If you only hear about drugs in Middletown "very rarely" than you very rarely read the paper. Drugs have become an epidemic in this town. These people alone have been arrested several times for the same thing. When will you stop reading about them selling drugs and read about their prison sentence?
Mother of Harmony October 13, 2012 at 01:43 PM
Well said, Judith. Drugs are a very real problem in the area, especially with the younger set, but not exclusive to them. It's absurd to think drugs are only found in urban settings when it's a fact that the more affluent have more accessibility. The talk of legalizing any drugs is illogical to me.

what is really sad as hell of you people are so quick to judge without knowing anybody or any of the facts. everyone is supposed to be innocent until proven guilty but unfortunately in Middletown everybody is guilty until proven innocent.. what is really sad is what these egotistical police did to her to her children and her home. she is the nicest sweetest woman and best friend I've ever had.. I leave both my children in her care and I trust her to watch them more than I would any cop in this town. this in fact is the first time she has ever been arrested just so you know.. and although he has been arrested several times has yet to be proven guilty on anything.. you would be appalled at how the so called justice system works in this town ..
Tom October 15, 2012 at 04:54 AM
so before any of you open your mouth again please get your facts straight. just because someone is accuse does not mean they are guilty.. but I guess you're the gossiping types to believe everything that they read .. you will see justice will be done and you can take your words and shove them where the Sun doesn't shine. have a nice day : )

What is sad is that there is a "parent' out there that condones this behavior and exposes their own to it, very sad. Anyone knowing these "people" know exactly what was and is going on. Leeches always protect their blood source until the blood is gone and then they move on. Nice, sweet people do not expose their children or themselves to the drug trade nor do they shamelessly indulge in the proceeds. Friendship is often masked as dependancy. If you do not want the state involved in your life or the lives of your children do not invite them in by engaging in criminal acts. Get a job, pay your bills, and conduct yourself in a way that will make your family proud, not shameful of your name.

The facts are pretty straight... The police received reports of illegal activity, they investigated and found probable cause, they took that probable cause to a superior court judge who issued a search warrant. The police entered the premise and located drugs, money, fireworks and children present. At some point one of the accused thought it would be a good idea to assault a law eforcement officer who was simply doing his job. Charges were filed bail was set and the case was presented to a grand jury (citizens, you know, regular people like us) who reviewed the evidence and returned an indictment which means that they determined that there is enough evidence to proceed to trial. The facts, nothing but the facts.
