Belmar Woman Stole Jewelry From Middletown Home, Police Say

She is accused of stealing over $7,000 worth of jewelry from a Monmouth Avenue house.

Middletown Police charged a Belmar woman with theft on Friday after she allegedly stole jewelry from a township home.

According to court documents, Alexis Taylor, 25, entered a Monmouth Avenue home on June 25 and stole several pieces of jewelry from a jewelry box in the resident's bedroom. The jewelry is estimated to be worth $7,125 in total.

Taylor is also accused of stealing $1,575 worth of jewelry from an Eatontown home on June 25, according to court documents.

Bail was set at $35,000 with no ten percent cash option for each of the two theft charges. An initial appearance is scheduled for Thursday.
