Bus Carrying St. Leo, RBC Students in Accident

A school bus transporting students from Middletown and Red Bank Catholic schools collided with another vehicle and veered off the road in Holmdel at about 4:10 p.m. Wednesday on Everett Road, near American Way, police said.

According to the police report, the school bus driver, Johnnie Golden, 59, of Keansburg, was taken to Bayshore Hospital by the Holmdel First Aid Squad and Monoc Paramedics with minor injuries.

The driver of the other car, Joanne Fanzini, 41, of Holmdel, refused medical attention at the accident scene. No children were hurt in the accident, police said.

The Helfrich school bus was transporting children home from in the Lincroft section of Middletown, as well as Red Bank Catholic High School, Red Bank, police said.

Middletown police responded to the accident to assist with traffic.
