A car hit a jogger attempting to cross Harmony Road Sunday morning, Middletown police said.

The jogger was running on Harmony when he stepped off the curb, attempting to cross over to Cherry Tree Farm Road, and was struck by a vehicle traveling east at 8:04 a.m., according to Lt. Steve Dollinger.

The jogger sustained non-life threatening head and chest injuries. A medevac helicopter was requested to fly but was later canceled, Dollinger said. The patient was transported  to Jersey Shore Medical Center by Leonardo First Aid and Monoc Paramedics.
