Counterfeit Bills Surface at Jersey Shore Premium Outlet Mall

An East Orange man is charged for shopping with counterfeit bills.

Police have arrested an East Orange man for using counterfeit $100 bills at the Jersey Shore Premium Outlet Mall in Tinton Falls on Friday. 

Alexander Hines Jr., 51, of William Street is charged with forgery, theft by deception and receiving stolen goods. 

Tinton Falls Borough Police say he passed three counterfeit $100 bills -- and was in possession of eight more $100 bills and two $50 bills. 

He purchased items in Quicksilver, Crocs and US Polo Association stores with less than $200 in counterfeit bills. 

Hines is being held at the county jail on $6,500 bail. The date of his first appearance before a judge is scheduled for July 29.
