Four Injured in Route 35 Accident at New Monmouth Road

The Tuesday night accident sent both drivers and two passengers to the hospital, police say.

Four people were injured in a car accident Tuesday at the intersection of Route 35 and New Monmouth Road, according to Detective Sgt. Steve Dollinger of the Middletown Township Police Department.

The two-car collision happened around 5:40 p.m. and kept the section of road closed for about an hour.

Two were taken to Riverview Medical Center and two were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, according to Dollinger.

Patrolman Andrew Siciliano is investigating.

First aid squads from Middletown, Port Monmouth and Fairview as well as MONOC responded to the scene.
