Highlands Man Allegedly Breaks Into Oceanport Home, Threatens Pet Sitter

A Highlands man was charged with breaking into an Oceanport residence last month and threatening a woman staying in the home while the owners were away on vacation, according to court documents.

Brian J. Bodnar, 23, 65 Snug Harbor, Highlands, was arrested following a Dec. 5 incident where he allegedly broke into a Tecumseh Avenue, Oceanport home at 4:43 a.m., entered a bedroom with a flashlight and threatened a woman staying in the home as a pet sitter.

Bodnar allegedly demanded money he said he was owed by the victim. He is also charged with sending her harassing e-mails.

He faces charges of third degree burglary, terroristic threats and harassment, which is a disorderly persons offense.

Oceanport Police Officer Jonathan Tucci made the arrest and Bodnar was held on $10,000 bail with no 10 percent.
