Investigation Continues For Crash That Injured Five

The crash that occurred in the Middletown section of the Garden State Parkway yesterday afternoon is still under investigation.

A car with five people onboard hit a guardrail and overturned into the woods yesterday afternoon causing all occupants to seek medical attention, New Jersey State Police said.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:14 p.m. near the 113 mile marker on the Garden State Parkway. According to State Police Trooper Christopher Kay, the green Toyota Camry was traveling southbound on the Parkway before it hit the guardrail.

In a report from the Asbury Park Press, an adult male occupant was transported by NorthSTAR medevac helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick in critical condition. The four others in the car were transported to the Jersey Shore Medical Center.

The crash only involved the one car but caused both the inner and outer lanes to be closed for about 10 minutes yesterday afternoon. The crash is still under investigation. No updates on the crash or on the occupants have been issued at this time.
