Wearing ski masks and armed with the hammer and a BB handgun, they attempted to rob the station at approximately 8 p.m. Jan. 6, according to Detective Lt. Steve Dollinger. However, Dollinger added, “they fled the station without getting any money after the attendant locked himself in the office and refused to let them in.”

After being seen running from the scene and getting into a white van, police in the surrounding area were alerted and they were caught minutes later by Brookdale officers Craig Iacouzzi and Gabriel Campan.
