A Keansburg man was charged with stalking and disorderly person offenses after police said he harassed an unidentified person in Middletown last week.
Joseph V. Laguna, 42, previously had been ordered not to contact the individual—whose identity was not released by authorities—but allegedly violated that order by stalking, harassing and threatening the alleged victim, according to criminal complaints filed in Middletown on Dec. 5 and 6.
Those third and fourth degree crimes came with a $20,000 bond, no 10 percent option, the complaint states.
In addition, police said in the complaint that Laguna screamed threats, “upsetting the victim and causing fear” and tried to engage the individual in a physical altercation by screaming and threatening.
Those petty disorderly person offenses came with a $5,000 bond, no 10 percent option.
According to Monmouth County Correctional Facility records, Laguna remains in custody.
