Keansburg Man Indicted on Failure to Register as a Sex Offender Charge

Investigators say he violated this law in both Keansburg and Middletown

A Monmouth County grand jury voted to indict a Keansburg man on a charge that he failed to register as a sex offender with law enforcement agencies in Middletown and Keansburg.

Police say that Richard Borello, 50, was convicted for a sexual offense in 1996 in Bloomington, Illinois and as a result he is required to notify his local law enforcement ten days before moving of his proposed changed address and is also required to register with law enforcement at the location of his new address. According to police, Borello failed to do so between March 3 and March 30, 2012.

Borello is charged with failure to register as a convicted sex offender, a fourth degree crime.
