Allen Autopsy: Homicide is Confirmed

UPDATE: Kimberly Allen's husband Patrick, accused of her murder, is to make his first court appearance Monday.

As Lincroft resident Patrick F. Allen awaits his initial appearance before a judge tomorrow to answer to a charge of one count of murder in the death of his wife, Kimberly, the "medical examiner has confirmed it as a homicide," Deputy Assistant Monmouth County Prosecutor Richard Incremona said on Sunday.

Incremona disclosed no details of the autopsy beyond the homicide confirmation. He said Patrick Allen's court appearance will likely take place "at about 1 p.m."  .

At the Allen home at 1457 West Front Street today, the police crime scene tape had been removed from the property's perimeter and there is scant visible activity in the area.

The house is set far back on a large piece of property on a portion of West Front Street that is a main thoroughfare. Homes in the area vary widely in age and style with the Allen house being one of the newer ones.

A Facebook page lists Patrick Allen as being from Perth Amboy and having graduated from Upsala College in 1989.

A college friend of Patrick Allen, John Bobowicz, emailed Patch saying: "I was friends with both Pat and Kim back in college. I went to college with Pat and we were in the same circle of friends for years after that. I lost touch with them when I moved to pursue my career, but have fond memories of them both.

"I knew both of them and probably Patrick more than Kim. Patrick and I both attended Upsala College and graduated a year apart. Kim didn't attend Upsala. I probably got to know Kim a little more after we all graduated because I didn't see her on campus that much.

Realizing that I haven't seen them in a long time, what is most shocking about (all of) this is that both of them were great people, normal and likable people. Pat always had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around. Kim always came across and nice, thoughtful and responsible. They met before college, I believe, so they have been together a very long time."

An Oct. 19 entry on Allen's Facebook wall describes him as "self-employed," a change in status from an earlier entry describing his employer as Atel, a securities firm based in San Francisco.

The most recent entry under his name is dated Nov. 16 and reads: "Love NYC in the rain — at New York Penn Station."
