Man Charged with Using Gun to Threaten Death in Domestic Dispute

Asbury Park man faces charges out of Middletown and Ocean Township

An Asbury Park man faces numerous charges in Middletown and Ocean Township after authorities said he used a handgun to threaten a woman during an Oct. 12 domestic dispute.

Reginald L. Taylor, 22, allegedly threatened the woman with a semi-automatic handgun, hit her in the back of the head with the weapon and threatened to kill her, according to criminal complaints filed on Oct. 16.

Authorities charge that during the incident in Middletown, Taylor racked the gun “several times” to put a bullet in its chamber.

That same day, Taylor faces charges for having the handgun at the Tower Motel in Ocean Township and using it to prevent the woman from leaving by threatening her life, according to the complaint.

Taylor remains in the Monmouth County Jail on a total of $222,750, according to court records.
